WhatsApp API pricing in India: Meta’s template charges, free service replies and the separate ENTALOP platform plan. Request a quote.
The two parts of your bill
- Meta’s charges for delivered template messages
- Your platform plan, which covers the software you use to send and manage messages
Template categories
| Category | What it is for | Example |
|---|---|---|
| Marketing | Promotions and engagement | A festive offer to opted-in customers |
| Utility | Updates about an existing transaction or request | Order shipped, appointment reminder |
| Authentication | Verifying a user | A one-time passcode |
Meta reviews each template and may recategorise it. Marketing templates are usually the most expensive category.
What is free
- Free-form service replies within 24 hours of the customer’s last message
- Utility templates sent while that customer service window is open
- Messages within a free entry-point window, for example after a customer messages you from a click-to-WhatsApp ad, under Meta’s current rules
Worked example
A customer asks about delivery times and your team replies within the hour: no Meta charge. The next day you send a shipping update using a utility template: charged at the utility rate, because the window has closed. Next month you send an opted-in offer using a marketing template: charged at the marketing rate.
Where to find current rates
Meta publishes rate cards and updates its pricing rules from time to time. Use Meta’s official pricing page for current figures, and see ENTALOP pricing for how platform plans work.
